Love Life, Love Others, Pursue Peace
•

A few key takeaways:
First, the Lord wants us to love life and have good days! He doesn’t want us to live miserably here on earth.
Second, Peter tells us to keep our tongue from evil and our lips from speaking deceit. What is your mouth saying that is hurting others? James warns us about our tongue too. Words hurt, words matter, and we need to be careful what we say.
Third, Peter tells us to turn away from evil and do good. Verse 8 before this says, “love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous.” The ability to turn from evil and do good comes from love. We should love and have compassion for others as Jesus did on us.
Last, Peter says to seek peace and pursue it. Our culture today in America always seems like we’re looking for conflict with others, particularly on social media. Are you pursuing peace?
Maybe the combination of these things is harming our ability to represent Jesus to those who don’t know Him. If so, guard your tongue, love like Jesus did, and seek peace with others. Be an ambassador for Christ.
